Visiting Parque Tumbes

After several years, I revisited some places from my childhood in Talcahuano, Chile. I came to visit my girlfriend, Gloria, who lives in this region.

Parque Tumbes

Located on a hill in Talcahuano, Parque Tumbes is a large green area with free public access near the Nueva Los Lobos neighborhood, where I grew up.

The trails seem unchanged. But just as you cannot step into the same river twice, I suppose you cannot walk the same path twice either.

Close to the sea

Through some cliffs, Parque Tumbes provides access to some small coves and beaches

Not as pristine as before

As a child, I walked these paths alone and at ease. Today the area feels less safe, and visitors have not kept it as clean — litter is visible in places that used to be untouched.

I have always loved the feeling of standing in nature — strong winds and the sound of the sea filling everything.

It is possible to walk to several small beaches where I spent much of my summers as a teenager.
